Addressing The Issues That Contribute To Homelessness

Employment
Having the ability to work is more than just a means to obtain money and food, it builds confidence, provides purpose and is a pathway to improvement.
We have many opportunities at the garden for people without jobs to work. And with work comes growth mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

Education
Our education initiative helps facilitate learning for both children and adults. Our goal is not to just provide food and shelter but to educate in a way that brings transformational change.
Housing
Housing and shelter is a basic need and we as humans need it for survival. When that need is not met, many other aspects of life become increasingly difficult.
We provide a safe place to live and work so that people can find purpose and grow spiritually and emotionally.

Transportation
We will pick up local people in Woodstock and Crystal Lake at the homeless locations and bring them to the garden so they can earn money. Occasionally, we'll travel to further locations so the homeless can stay in our seasonal worker trailer.

Community Supported Agriculture
The fruits and vegetables that our garden produces are either donated to food pantries and churches or sold through our CSA.
For only $200 at the beginning of the season, customers receive vegetables for 15 - 20 weeks, which amounts to enough for 2 - 4 moderate vegetable eaters per week.
